Fiji Airports COVID-19 health and safety measures are accredited by the Airports Council International (ACI), says communications manager Christopher Chand.
“This is the Airport Health Accreditation we received from ACI in November last year based on Fiji Airports Travel Safe program,” he said.
“Our Travel Safe program prioritises the health and safety of our passengers and airport staff.
“As part of the Travel Safe program, there is rigorous cleaning and disinfecting carried out across the entire Nadi International Airport terminal for all high contact surfaces.
“This cleaning and disinfecting exercise involves the application of anti-microbial coating on all touch points which includes baggage carousels, counters, handrails on escalators, luggage trolleys, security boxes, X-ray machines and common touch points throughout the airport.”

FIJI Airports has heightened its health and safety measures in addition to their Nadi International Airport travel safe protocols, says communications and public relations manager Christopher Chand.
He said as a result of the Nadi and Lautoka containment areas, domestic flights out of Nadi had been cancelled.
Mr Chand said some protocols now in practice included mandatory face masks for every individual entering the Nadi International Airport, passengers and airport staff members must display the CareFiji app and only vaccinated staff members could be on the frontline.
“There is also a restriction of unnecessary movement into the Nadi International Airport and it is mandatory for all airport staff to declare themselves if they are feeling sick or unwell,” he said.
