Jason Brickman and six other Fil-foreign players will not be eligible for next weekend’s PBA Rookie Draft after failing to beat Friday’s deadline for those who have yet to submit necessary documents.
Agent Charlie Dy confirmed that Brickman, Jeremiah Gray and Brandon Rosser were among the Fil-foreigners who will no longer take part in the March 14 proceedings as they weren’t able to furnish documents from the Bureau of Immigration and Department of Justice.
Also out, per multiple reports, are former Chooks-to-Go 3×3 player Taylor Statham, La Salle’s Tyrus Hill, John Paul Gulfo and Christopher Cancio.

A FEW PBA teams admitted the uncertainty of the eligibility of Fil-foreigners has also prevented them from inviting to workouts certain draft applicants who they would want to take a closer look at.
With the PBA cancelling the draft combine this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, teams will only get an opportunity to evaluate the draft applicants through invites to practice and workouts.
Some teams, however, said they will only start inviting applicants once the final list is already out. Fil-foreign players have until March 5 to submit their requirements to the PBA office.
“We are in the same boat as everyone else, waiting for that final list to be revealed on March 5 so that we can kinda have a guess of what other teams ahead of us might possibly do,” said Rain or Shine coach Chris Gavina.

THE clock is ticking for a dozen Fil-foreign rookie draft prospects who have yet to submit their eligibility papers just two days before the PBA-imposed deadline.
Among those who have yet to submit their Department of Justice affirmation and Bureau of Immigration certification are potential first-rounders like Jason Brickman, Jeremiah Gray, Jerrick Ahanmisi, and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.
The four draft hopefuls, along with Taylor Statham, Alec Stockton, Tyrus Hill, Christopher Cancio, and even Andre Paras, have until the end of office hours of Friday to submit their papers to be eligible for the March 14 draft.
