MONTREAL Québec solidaire has won a provincial byelection in the Montreal riding of Saint-Henri-Sainte-Anne, capturing the once Liberal stronghold on Monday night.
For the first time in its history, the riding of Saint-Henri Sainte-Anne in Montreal s Sud-Ouest has turned its back on the Liberals, electing Québec solidaire s Guillaume Cliche-Rivard.
The victory of Quebec solidaire in the byelection in Saint-Henri-Sainte-Anne is a defeat for the politics of division of Premier Francois Legault, says party spokesman Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois.
At his first news conference as MNA, Québec solidaire s Guillaume Cliche-Rivard said he will represent all the electors in the Montreal riding regardless of their allegiance.
