Daily Post Nigeria Published It was a tale of woes as a family of four suspected victims killed by police narrated their ordeal to the judicial panel of inquiry investigating rights abuses in Taraba State. During the sitting of the panel on Monday, the audience could not hold back tears as they listened to stories on how the youths were brutally killed by the police. Standing before the Christopher Awubra led panel to testify on behalf of the family of the victims, Kabiru Jubril Abdullahi, said the incident which occurred in February 2014, was caused by the vigilante group. He said, “a team of vigilante led by one Sani Abdullahi invited our brothers on a telephone to appear before them to discuss and resolve some issues.”

Channels Television   Updated December 17, 2020 Members of the Taraba State Judicial Panel of Inquiry hold their maiden session in Jalingo on November 9, 2020.   The Judicial Panel on Police Brutality and Restitution of Victims on Wednesday received a complaint of one Mrs Esther Iruoha who alleged that her husband was killed at a checkpoint by a police officer. Esther Iruoha, through her counsel Elijah Nyaro, is asking the panel to conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting of her husband, Reuben Iruoha by a police constable, Danasabe Waziri and award the family ₦200 million as compensation. The accused police constable Danasabe Waziri is said to have been arrested, tried and sentenced to ten years imprisonment which has led to his dismissal from the force.
