Many of the families say they will light candles at home to remember their loved ones that were killed. It affected the whole nation, and people here in the bay area paused here today to remember the victims. We are outside San Francisco city hall where a vigil took place just a few hours ago. Reporter good evening. California is one of the few states what has passed strict gun control legislation since the tragedy. There was yet another shooting today. Gun control advocates say there is still more work to do. As the names of the newtown victims are read aloud, for a moment people stopped and reflected on the lives lost. All i can say. Reporter residents as far as three miles away reported feeling the explosion. The blast knocked the home off its foundation. Roof shingles, tar and splintered wood are strewn across the lawn. Firefighters say the debris field is 200 yards. The length of two football fields. It was a pretty big impact. Reporter a dozen windows in neighboring homes were blown out. Firefighters say a gas leak in the dryer is what likely caused the explosion and subsequent fire and that natural gas also fueled the flames. Investigators estimate the home is a total loss, with more than 225,000 in damages. Although firefighters say they are confident what caused this explosion was that natural gas leak, they did bring in atf officials today just to do a thorough investigation.
