Last summer, the
Caddo School Boardvoted to close Arthur Circle and send those students to the Broadmoor STEM Academy, a Pre-K through 8th grade school.
Board member Christine Tharpeis proposing using the facility as a youth center to offer services to children who are at risk. Tharpe says this proposal is in the early stages and she has just presented the plan to a committee of the
Caddo School Board. This complex would remain under the umbrella of the school board but it would be managed by the
Tharpe says she recently visited truancy court and she was shocked at the truancy numbers which have skyrocketed in Caddo over the past year. She has continued to research the problem and found several areas where we can offer services to help these young people. The youth center at Arthur Circle would provide services to ensure the necessary tools are made available, in order to succeed in every aspect of life. This would be a One Stop Shop to let
