The Tuesday (April 11) afternoon card at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania saw trotters in the spotlight, in both four $20,000 divisions of the first preliminary of the Weiss Series for sophomore fillies, and in six $20,000 divisions of the second preliminary of the Game Of Claims Series for horses carry a base claiming tag this week of $27,500.
The Friday (April 7) morning qualifiers at The Meadowlands were headlined by familiar names that have had significant careers thus far in harness racing and Nancy Takter trainees were the ones that frequented the top of the charts.
The Standardbred Retirement Foundation Series for three-year-olds kicked off on Friday night (March 31) at The Meadowlands, and not only did the connections of some inexperienced competitors get a feel for how good their horses may go on to be, but a handful of retired pacers and trotters also benefited in a big way as well.
All divisions of two-year-olds hit the track at Dover Downs on Thursday night (Nov. 3) for the Matron Stakes, with a single non-wagering dash and three finals on the wagering card.
