The Whittier Community Foundation held its 14th annual Whittier Spooktacular 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 28, with more than 3,000 runners participating it became the largest race that the event has had thus far.
For her Girl Scouts Gold Award project, Adrianna Procida wrote a book to teach others about blindness and mental health. Her goal for the book, “What Can’t Be Seen,” is not only to entertain but to show what it’s like to be a struggling teen.
The district selects individuals of influence in the community, such as city council members, city managers, chiefs of police, and local college administrators, among others to act as principal for a day at schools across the district for its “Principal for a Day” event.
