The pod has been put in place at HC-One’s Westleigh Lodge in Leigh. Relatives can now visit the pod for a safe face-to-face chat with Residents at the home. The pod follows all infection control measures and the home is working very closely with Public Health England to ensure that everyone stays safe. Money was raised last year which enabled site maintenance officer, Gabi, to build the pod. For many care home Residents, their only contact with family is through phone calls or video chat so having the new visiting booth has boosted morale and raised spirits throughout Westleigh Lodge.
The First Baptist Church of Copperas Cove held its first Cozy Carside Christmas drive-thru event last Saturday Dec. 12 in the churchâs parking lot. Each family drove through nine different stations, and members of the church told them one part of the story of the first Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ.
The kids were able to throw paper that was crumpled up at different targets in each station. There was also a winter wonderland of snow at one station.
The event was a way to build a connection with the local community and give families something fun to do together during this difficult time.
