Karan Retail expands portfolio
Karan Retail has bought Camstone Service Station, in Leicester, growing its portfolio to 18 sites.
Camstone Service Station, which was previously owned by Amar Shah of Midlands UK, features a Flames-branded takeaway, hand carwash, and established MOT/car servicing business. The fuel was supplied by Valero under the Texaco brand and Spar supplied the store.
Karan Retail said: “We are changing the convenience store onsite to a Londis-branded shop, but are continuing the fuel supply arrangement with Texaco.”
The sale marks Karan Retail’s second acquisition in Leicester, having purchased Houghton Garage on the A47 in Leicester in February 2020.

Family-run store sold after two decades Print

Peasedown News, a family-run post office and newsagent in Peasedown St John, near Bath, has been sold after 24 years.
The store has been owned by John and Bryony Barker who made the decision to bring the business to market to retire from the sector.
John Barker said: “It is with mixed emotions that we leave Peasedown News. We are sad to say goodbye to the many friends that both Bryony and I have made over the last 24 years but also happy to relax and take things easy for a while.”
The business has been purchased by Sriluxman Srikanthalingam for an undisclosed price.
Retailer Kawal Singh has secured the sub-lease of West Cross Supermarket, a Nisa-branded convenience store and post office in West Cross, Swansea. The new head lease was secured by AF Blakemore & Son, who will now supply the store. The family-run store has been owned and operated by Salamaan Rasul since 1983, who is now looking to pursue other interests and focus on other business interests following the sale.
