UNH grad: Student loan payment delay major relief but will it be canceled?

UNH grad: Student loan payment delay major relief but will it be canceled? By Ian Lenahan Bridget Bailey graduated remotely in May from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and, after four years of schooling, student loan debt of roughly $25,000. After a job opportunity in Boston fell through due to complications related to COVID-19, Bailey has found herself financially benefiting from the U.S. Department of Education’s recently extended moratorium on mandatory student loan payments. “I’ve applied to a ton of jobs since February and still haven’t even gotten an interview due to companies putting a pause in hiring,” she said. “So I’ve been working part-time jobs at home since graduation in order to be able to make loan payments while there’s no interest.”
