Coronavirus (COVID-19) hospitalizations in the borough plunged yet again on Tuesday to a new low this year, after a brief one-day upswing. At the same time, two more residents have succumbed to the disease, while 70 new confirmed coronavirus cases were added to Staten Island’s tally, city Health Department data shows. As of Tuesday afternoon, 72 coronavirus in-patients were being treated in the borough’s two hospital systems. That number was down 13 from Monday’s tally of 85.
