When Christian Noble made Foot Locker Nationals in 2015 as a senior at Mt. Vernon (IN) High School, he truly thought that would be the pinnacle of his running career. Back in high school, I didn t think I d get to this point, Noble said recently. For me it was, Ah, I made Foot Locker. That s it. That s the top of it for running. Like I didn t even know about anything past that. That s all I really looked at.

Here are eight athletes who left their mark this past weekend and were named National Athletes of the Week on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

NCAA May Not Accept Christian Noble’s 13:37 Division II 5K Record Due to Pacing Lights
On Sunday night,
Christian Noble of Lee (Tenn.) University ran the fastest indoor time ever by a Division II 5,000-meter runner. Noble’s 13:37.39 at the Magic City Elite meet in Birmingham, Ala., was an 11-second personal best and almost four seconds faster than the previous DII best of 13:41.08, run by Abilene Christian’s
Nicodemus Naimadu 16 years ago. It was a stellar performance, run mostly alone Noble led every step of the final 15 laps after pacemaker
Garrett O’Toole stepped off the track after two kilometers.
Lee (Tenn.), No. 4
Central Missouri and No. 5
Northwest Missouri. Both Lee (Tenn.) and Northwest Missouri have set program-best rankings in the National TFRI.
The Lakers have shown depth across all event disciplines early on this season and boast 16 marks that rank in the top-10 nationally. The strength for GVSU comes in its distance squad, which includes three of the top-5 spots in the mile and 3000.
Isaac Harding leads the way in the mile (No. 2, 4:03.14), with
