Meant and we look back 97 years to 1920 when I m August 26th women throughout all states of the United States were granted the right to vote now this hard fought 72 year struggle began in $1848.00 in Santa come falls during the 1st woman s rights convention so from $1848.00 and shell 1920 women of the suffrage movement worked diligently to enact women s right to vote throughout the u.s. Now during the mid 18 hundreds women participated primarily in the abolitionist movement which was a major movement to end slavery throughout our country now many women fought with all their might for the civil rights of black man the end of slavery was considered by many women to be far far greater goal then achieving civil rights for themselves from their dedication to the abolitionist movement women learned how to organize they also learned how to speak in public even though they were not allowed to do so well women were shamed if they spoke in public in those days it was considered derelict of a wo
