In what looks like a holiday tradition, Kanye West once again surprised fans when he released his new Christian album, Emmanuel on Christmas Day this year.
The Christian Post reported that the five-song album is a follow-up from last year s holiday release, Jesus is Born which took the No. 1 spot on gospel charts for weeks.
In the Bible, the name Emmanuel means God with us.
Just like with West s first Christmas album, the songs in Emmanuel were performed by the Sunday Service Choir with their usual choral vibe, but with the addition of Latin-inspired and ancient music. Similar to the Jesus is King album, the new Christmas release is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is Born, which skyrocketed to No. 1 on the gospel charts.
Emmanuel is defined in Scripture as “God with us.” Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us, Matthew 1:23 (KJV) states.
The musical composition is comprised of ancient and Latin inspired music. The EP is only 12 minutes in length and was written and executive produced by West.
Emmanuel was performed by the Sunday Service Choir complete with a choral vibe. Similar to
Jesus Is King, the new album is pegged a “celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ” according to Deadline.

Kanye West has dropped a special gift to his fans who had been waiting for his new music. On Christmas Day, December 25, the rapper released a surprise album of compositions titled Emmanuel .
According to a press release, the EP, which title means God is with us, is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. The 12-minute album includes five tracks which were inspired by ancient and Latin music. The compositions are performed by his Sunday Service choir, and executive produced as well as composed by the Follow God hitmaker.
