Residents from an evacuated apartment building are now piled into hotel rooms, many with multiple children, after officials found dangerous levels of a carcinogenic chemical inside.
Officials with the DNR said they strongly recommended that developers of a Milwaukee apartment building hold off on moving residents in, but they did anyway. On Saturday, more than 150 were evacuated.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officials said its repeated requests were ignored when advising the developers of a recently evacuated apartment building they needed a working mitigation system before residents could move in.
