aimed not so much at wall street or the big banks but at budget cuts and tuition hikes. good evening. i m dan ashley. police are staging in berkeley to confront the latest occupy movement in the bay area. occupy cal off to a rocky start with several students arrested as they tried to pitch tents in the plaza. alan wang is there live where the crowd it sounds like is anticipating a showdown with police soon. 200 students still occupying the plaza tonight. two hours ago, the vice chancellor told the crowd they would be given a ten minute morning before police started arresting them. based on a clash this morning they know it will not be pleasant. the university police got physical with them and tore down several tents after the students tried to occupy the plaza today. six were injured and many showed us bumps and bruces they say were caused by police batons. they insist occupy cal will be a peaceful movement despite police tactics and looks like we will find out how peaceful
