American agribusiness CHS Inc. announced plans Wednesday for a $73 million project at its grain export terminal in Myrtle Grove, LA that will improve the site’s storage and handling capabilities. “CHS is always looking for ways to expand market access for farmers,” Chris Pothen, vice president, CHS Global Grain & Processing, said in a company release. “Improvements at Myrtle Grove will allow us to move more grain to world markets with greater speed and efficiency.” The terminal, about 25 miles south of New Orleans, is the first on the Mississippi River. It currently handles soybeans, corn, rice, wheat, DDGS, and specialty grains for export to customers in the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.
