LEWISTON Geiger, the nation’s largest privately held promotional products distributor, recently presented its quarterly Geiger Star Awards to associates, who have been nominated by fellow associates in recognition of their efforts to work the values of The Geiger Way.
Chris Pomerleau, facilities manager, helped with projects that included the Educate Maine virtual event, with the Halloween night event at Geiger and offered advice to improve efficiency to The Green Ladle program’s new food truck. He is also heavily involved with the South Lewiston Baptist Church and constantly helps people in need, including handing out meals for Thanksgiving 2020, clearly demonstrating the recognition category of Community Service.
Dec. 24—LEWISTON — The toughest part Chris Pomerleau’s role as chaplain at Lewiston Police Department is trying to comfort the parents of a child who has died unexpectedly.

The parents ask him,“Why?”
“Sometimes it’s OK to say, ‘I don’t know,’” Pomerleau said.
“I also answer with, ‘God always has a plan. We never know what that plan is,’” he said.
“It’s hard,” he said. “It’s probably one of the hardest questions to answer because, as a human being, you don’t know.”
Humans are mortal, but the world is infinite, he said.
“There’s a larger picture out there and we may not know it all the time.”
A Lewiston native, Pomerleau’s eyes were opened to much of the world when he served in the U.S. Navy and flew P-3 Orion surveillance aircraft as a flight engineer.
