Condition Census Pitt Farthing Discovered in UK

Condition Census Pitt Farthing Discovered in UK United Kingdom recently reported the discovery of a high-grade Pitt farthing, which researcher William Pitt’s efforts to repeal the 1765 Stamp Tax. The obverse legends read THE RESTORER OF COMMERCE 1766 / NO STAMPS and AMERICA, while on the reverse THANKS TO THE FRIENDS OF LIBERTY AND TRADE encircles the border. Could Peak Health be next step in bringing Garfield County health insurance costs down?

The local Valley Health Alliance is a valuable player in bringing open market health insurance costs down in the Roaring Fork Valley and Garfield County. But a second, member-based alliance that county commissioners have been wooing for the past two years could punch those costs down even further. That was the pitch from Claire Brockbank, CEO of Summit County-based Peak Health Alliance, during an online community forum hosted by the Garfield County commissioners Monday evening. Garfield County has been working with Peak to potentially bring its negotiated-pricing approach to the county, working with health care providers and insurers on an agreed fee schedule and insurance rates.

Friday letters: Gun violence, health forum, choosing school principals, and new development parking restrictions

Even Syria doesn’t experience level of gun violence as U.S. I wonder how Rep. Lauren Boebert would explain to Officer Talley’s seven children why her right to play with her toys is more important than their father’s life. She’d probably say I didn’t kill him. Some crazy Muslim did. Yes, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa is a Syrian who came to this country as a small child, and Syria probably has as many mentally ill people as most countries do. And they’ve been involved in a civil war for 10 years. But even Syria doesn’t experience the level of gun violence we do. We lose 40,000 people per year because a radical fringe insists this country be an armed camp. That’s you, Rep. Boebert.

Giving Thought: Competition comes to the region s health-insurance market

Steve Mundinger The high cost of living in the Roaring Fork Valley is one of the factors that makes our population perpetually restless and transient. Prices are often prohibitive for things like rent to gasoline in the Aspen-to-Parachute region, but one of the biggest costs is health care and health insurance. Fortunately, there is some good news to report on this front. Two new health insurance companies are offering policies to valley residents in the small group category (small businesses and nonprofits) and the individual market. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has been the only choice for individuals and small employers for several years, but United Healthcare, the small group insurer, and Rocky Mountain Health Plans, the individual provider, are now offering policies at 5% to 15% cheaper rates.
