Baseball is a streaky and superstitious sport – sometimes, all a team needs to improve off of a previous season’s results is a chip on their shoulder. While WashU missed the postseason last year, the building blocks for a sustainable winning future seemed to be in place. WashU baseball is young and hungry this season.
WashU has been the top dogs as of late, winning nine of their last thirteen games. They currently sit at second in the UAA but have the best composite record of any team in the conference. Their 21-8 record is a dramatic turnaround from their 12-24 finish last year.
Jacinto sat down with Student Life to chat about Texas baseball, his transition to WashU, and his superstition that started when he hit the first homer of his collegiate career against Westfield State.
