Hamblett named NYA Fall Athlete of the Year

Mon, 12/14/2020 - 7:30am Chris Hamblett Chris Hamblett of Boothbay, along with Naomi Reichsmann, were named North Yarmouth Academy’s Fall Athletes of the Year. Hamblett, a senior cross-country standout and the team’s most valuable player, also won the award in 2019. Reischsmann was an outstanding soccer player for the Panthers. As a freshman, Hamblett finished 21st at the Class C state meet. He had his best finish as a sophomore at the state meet, finishing ninth. Last season he finished 16th. Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases and the requirement that runners wear masks, there were no state meets. During the regular season meets, he finished in the top five and place eighth in the Western Maine Conference state qualifier.
