Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) office dribbled a bit more information out Friday about her secret Florida trip aboard a private jet in March.
Breitbart News caught Whitmer changing her story this week from her original claim that she traveled “at her own expense.” Thursday, she would only say the trip was “not a gift” and was not “paid for at taxpayer expense.”
Friday, Whitmer’s chief of staff, Joanne Huls, told
MIRS News the flight cost $27,521 and was paid for by a so-called “dark money” 501c4 nonprofit originally set up to fund Whitmer’s transition activities in 2019. Now called “Executive Office Account,” the fund paid Air Eagle, LLC for the excursion. It is not clear if that was the intent all along, or only after the secret trip became public.

MIRS Newsreport in April:
While Communications Director Tiffany Brown wouldn’t say where the Democratic governor traveled, a source tells
MIRS that Whitmer’s father, Richard Whitmer, has a home in Florida.
“Her dad was fully vaccinated, and the governor is tested regularly and has never tested positive for COVID [coronavirus],” Brown told
MIRS,
noting the governor traveled at her own expense and that utilized no state resources. … (emphasis added)

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer won t divulge details of an out-of-state trip she took to visit her ailing father.
The private jet reportedly linked to a much-criticized trip Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer took to Florida in March is owned by well-known names in metro Detroit business.
Neither the governor nor the jet s operator are answering questions about whether Whitmer used the plane co-owned by the Nicholson, Cotton and Moroun families in mid-March to visit her father in Florida.
Since revelations last month that Whitmer briefly left the state for a previously undisclosed trip to see her elderly father amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the governor and her office have steadfastly refused to say where she went, when she went and whose plane she took.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer refused to answer a reporter’s question asking who paid for the private jet she used to visit her father in Florida during her statewide travel advisories.
Whitmer was asked on Thursday by WWTV reporter Eric Lloyd for a response to the recent report by journalist Charlie LeDuff in Deadline Detroit that the governor approached wealthy businessmen in Detroit to use the private plane they share.

You will get caught. It might not be now, or two weeks from now, or many months later. But eventually, you’re going to get caught. How many government officials have told their people not to travel or do anything, but then were caught doing the opposite in full view of the public. Gov. Phil Murphy was called out for dining without a mask. Then-Gov. Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island told people to stay inside but attended a wine tasting. She’s now Biden’s commerce secretary. The mayor of Denver said don’t travel for Thanksgiving, only to later board a Mississippi-bound flight for, you guessed it, Thanksgiving. In Michigan, it would seem, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who gets off keeping her people inside due to COVID, decided to issue her lockdown decrees and then abscond to Florida, according to the Republican Governors Association.
