A third location of Doughnut Dollies opens this spring at the corner of Virginia and North Highland avenues. The Marietta-based doughnut shop, owned by chef Anna Gatti and Chris Gatti, replaces Dtox Juice in Virginia-Highland.
Doughnut Dollies first opened in 2015 along Cherokee Street in Marietta, followed by an in-town location on Howell Mill Road on the edge of Atlanta’s Channing Valley neighborhood two years ago. The name references a group of Red Cross volunteers who delivered coffee and doughnuts to U.S. soldiers during World War II.
“This [Virginia-Highland] location will have a unique interior design and offer our full line of seasonally changing doughnuts and a full coffee and espresso program,” Chris Gatti tells Eater. Like the Howell Mill location, the Virginia-Highland shop should include a few seats at a bar, with seating on the sidewalk. The shop could open in May.
