CareLink to help elders with telehealth access
PROVIDENCE Homebound older adults will be better able to access social medical support thanks to a new program by CareLink, the nonprofit health-care network.
The program, Telehealth Access for Homebound Seniors, is made possible by a $27,520 grant from the Nonprofit Support Fund jointly established by The Rhode Island Foundation and the Rhode Island Department of Commerce, according to a CareLink media release.
“Older adults are primarily referred to home care agencies following an acute health need requiring the oversight of medical providers,” CareLink CEO Chris Gadbois said in announcing the program. “COVID has provided a stumbling block to seniors getting the care they need to maintain their quality of life.”
