New York Times reports New Zealand now sits in 98th place in a field of 156 countries for vaccination rates. It reports New Zealand has administered 2.8 doses per 100 people and Australia 6 doses per 100. It is sobering to see New Zealanders would get much better access to vaccines if they lived in Fiji, Colombia or Bolivia.

Low GDP begins with inefficiency
When reviewing the economy, commentators, business leaders and economists often target the country s low productivity as the fundamental factor restraining the growth of GDP. It is not. The root cause of low growth in this country is that we are cursed with day-to-day inefficiency and lack of responsibility. Our local councils barely function at all in delivering their basic tasks. Road building, construction, public works, and other undertakings are rarely completed on time or within budget.
