Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol made a trip to Cambodia from Nov. 11 to 13, attending a series of meetings, including the South Korea-ASEAN Summit, ASEAN Plus Three summit and East Asia Summit, to strengthen relations with Southeast Asian nations. Ambassador of Cambodia to Korea Chring Botum Rangsay, who was in Phnom Penh to arrange the events, shared the behind-the-scenes effort with The Korea Times.
Prime Minister Hun Sen extended his condolences to the people of South Korea for the October 29 Halloween stampede which killed at least 154 people, in Seoul’s Itaewon district. In a letter to South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, Hun Sen said that he was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic accident.
A senior official from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the Cambodian Ambassador to South Korea confirmed that there were no reports of Cambodians involved in the stampede in Seoul’s Itaewon distract on the night of October 29, which had left more than 150 people dead.
The Korea Enterprises Federation (KEF) held a meeting with ASEAN ambassadors to Korea to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between Korea and ASEAN member nations, at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, Monday.
