DA Act extended for five years | Surat News

Surat: The state government will extend Gujarat Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provisions of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Act which is also known as the Disturbed Areas Act for another five years in some areas falling under eight police stations in Surat. The extension was announced after three BJP MLAs and some councillors made representations for it. Some areas falling under the jurisdictions of Athwa, Salabatpura, Chowk Bazaar, Mahidharpura, Saiyedpura and Lalgate police stations were covered under the Act since October 2017, while some areas of Limbayat and Rander police stations were added on March 14 last year. As the term of the Act in these areas ends on July 30 and July 31 respectively, it has been decided to extend it for another five years, by the Surat district collector.
