Will seek India s help if admin fails to cooperate ANI 26 Jul 2021, 07:18 GMT+10 Islamabad [Pakistan], July 26 (ANI): A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate, whose election camp was dismantled, has said that he would seek India s help if the local administration does not cooperate with him as the Legislative Assembly elections in Pakistan occupied Kashmir has been marred by violence. While speaking to media in Gujranwala on Sunday, Choudhary Muhammad Ismail Gujjar from LA-35 Jammu-2, said his election camp was dismantled despite the presence of police personnel, Geo News reported. The PML-N candidate had warned his party would also cause problems if the polling process did not continue peacefully. The deputy commissioner had asked my polling agents to leave and threatened them, the PML-N candidate said. He had asked the government to take action, otherwise, unrest will ensue and people will die .

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI) has won 23 seats while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was second with eight seats and the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured just six seats, the state-run Radio Pakistan reported. Muslim Conference (MC) and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party (JKPP) were successful on one seat each.

The PML-N leader was speaking to the media in Gujranwala near a polling station set up in Government High School No 2, where the deputy commissioner had allegedly kicked out PML-N and All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference’s polling agents. Following their exit from the polling station, the agents reportedly got into a heated argument with the deputy commissioner after which the polling process was halted there.

PML-N Vice president Maryam Nawaz took to Twitter to condemn the arrests. Ataa Tarar arrested. Sharam karo, Nawaz tweeted. The police said that PML-N Deputy Secretary-General Tarar among other supporters were arrested for an alleged assault on the police party, ARY News reported. According to police, the PML-N leader and many supporters stormed into the police station and assaulted the personnel following which they were detained.
