A resident living close to a new drive-thru Starbucks being built in Chorley says that it poses a risk to road safety - and claims that a crash in which she was involved right outside the site proves it.
Building work has begun on a new drive-thru coffee outlet on one of the main routes in and out of Chorley – a year after councillors refused permission for the development.
A drive-through coffee outlet could be built alongside a major route in and out of Chorley town centre. A planning application to create a 24-hour facility on the A6 Preston Road has been lodged by the billionaire Blackburn-based brothers who recently bought Asda. Moshin and Zuber Issa’s EG Group specialises in petrol station forecourts and roadside eateries. It currently operates over 110 Starbucks outlets, suggesting that the proposed Chorley outlet will host the same brand – although the planning application does not specify that detail and the EG Group has so far not responded to a request from the Local Democracy Reporting Service for confirmation.
