China has renewed policy support for the new-energy vehicle (NEV) sector, a move that experts believe will further fuel an industry that is already in the fast lane.

China s top economic planner announced it would restrict the construction of skyscrapers over 500 meters and prohibit the construction of ugly buildings in a document aiming to improve urbanization management that was released on Tuesday.
The regulations were issued by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
Among the world’s 10 highest buildings, six that are more than 500 meters are in China.
The country has the most skyscrapers in the world, with 2,395 buildings over 150 meters and 95 buildings over 300 meters, according to statistics from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, a US nonprofit organization.

The 100-meter-deep Hongyancun Station in Southwest China s Chongqing Municipality, the deepest subway station in the country, will go into operation by the end of 2021.
The station, which is under construction, is 106 meters below the ground, equivalent to the height of a 35-story building. Nine vertical shafts are being used to build the station, three of which are over 100 meters deep.
More labor is being used in the construction of the station than for normal ones, said Xi Yaoyong, who is in charge of the construction process, in a video posted by Pear Video on Monday.
