SAMAA - Two camels die after getting stuck in Cholistan swamp

A camel and its calf died on Sunday after they were stuck in a swamp in the Rahim Yar Khan s Cholistan desert for hours. The third camel stuck in the mud was rescued by residents. They tied one end of the rope to a jeep and the other around the camel s neck and pulled it out of the swamp. According to people in the neighbouring areas, the swamp formed after rain. The camels had wandered away from the herd, a man said.

Speaking to the media, Buzdar said, “I really enjoy driving on the track. The Cholistan Jeep Rally has become a mega event of Pakistan, which is not only promoting tourism but also portraying a soft image of the country across the world. In future rallies, drivers from around the world will be invited to make this an international event.”

NAB approves inquiry against Shaukat Yousafzai, Zehri, MNA Jafar Leghari Top Story February 11, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The executive board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday allowed to file two corruption references, eight inquiries and similar number of investigations against a former chief minister, ministers, parliamentarians and others. Reports said the NAB allowed inquiries against the KP Minister for Information Shaukat Ali Yousafzai and former chief minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, besides holding inquiries against MNA Sardar Jafar Khan Leghari and Raja Khan Mehar. While it also ordered closing the inquiry against former chief minister Punjab and former federal minister Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo. The meeting of the executive board was chaired by chairman NAB, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, in which it approved filing of two corruption references, eight inquires and eight investigations.

Cholistan jeep rally to be organised under Covid SOPs - Newspaper

BAHAWALPUR: The 16th Cholistan jeep rally, like other cultural and sporting events, will be a low-key affair this time round due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A mega attraction for the sport lovers from all over the country, the jeep rally is an annual feature of the desert cultural calendar for a variety of activities it offers. It is going to be organised on a limited scale from Feb 11 to 14 in the vast desert. A number of fans will be disappointed for not being able to visit the historical Derawar Fort venue in Cholistan (about 70 kilometres from here). According to a plan, there will neither be a cultural night nor any other traditional feature for the visitors. The four-day event will miss the music and other cultural programmes which promote a soft image of the country far and wide.
