Our CorrespondentKohima, Oct. 27 (EMN): In a major boost to the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak, a prominent youth, Vevoyi D Vadeo, on Thursday announced to join the party. Sources confirmed to Eastern Mirror that a former president of Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) and prominent youth leader along with his team had joined the ‘Globe’ party in Pfutsero town under Phek district. The political development has come as a major boost to the NDPP of 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency (AC). The announcement was made few hours ahead of the NDPP president’s tour to Phek region, wherein Konyak was slated to inaugurate NDPP Phek region office building-cum-party leaders meeting at Phek town hall later in the afternoon. Sources confirmed to Eastern Mirror that the former president of Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) along with his team had joined the party at Pfutsero town in Phek district in a significant development for NDPP of the 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency (AC). It was informed that Vadeo joined the party in the presence of Konyak and other NDPP central and regional leadership, who were on their way to Phek as the NDPP president is set to tour Phek region and also inaugurate the NDPP Phek region office building-cum-party leaders meeting at Phek town hall later in the afternoon.
