Hexham man to stand trial on racially aggravated harassment charge

The trial of a Hexham man accused of racially aggravated harassment has been rescheduled for later this month. Ronald Bryant (53), of Chirdon Crescent, was due to stand trial at North Tyneside Magistrates Court on Monday, accused of racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. It is alleged the incident took place last July, and Bryant denies both charges. He will stand trial at Newcastle Magistrates Court on May 26.

Hexham man accused of racially aggravated incident in town

Court. A HEXHAM man has denied using racially aggravated words or behaviour towards a woman. Ronald Bryant (52), of Chirdon Crescent, pleaded not guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour which were racially aggravated when he appeared at North Tyneside Magistrates Court last Monday. He also denied a separate charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour which weren t racially aggravated towards the same woman. It is alleged both incidents occurred in Hexham on July 25. Bryant will stand trial at North Tyneside Magistrates Court on May 10.
