From organizations to politicians to individuals, people are expressing disgust at litter, setting up cleaning sweeps and calling on others to also get involved.
“It looks so bad,” state representative Steve Tyson said. Tyson, who grew up in the area and runs a real estate business, said he is tired of the mounting trash and so he has set up a clean-up day for this Sunday, March 7, in an area around James City.
He said he is hoping for as many volunteers as are willing to turn out, and said he is expecting help from at least a few political leaders in the area.
