For most of us there are plants we find special because they remind us of someone who was passionate about growing them. As a young person you usually don’t appreciate that kind of enthusiasm but with the years, understand, and sometimes identify with the sentiment, which usually leads you to appreciate them too.
Happy faced perennial daisies came to the fore in the garden this summer holiday season when there was not much time to fuss about tending them. The bonus was that, being perennials which were planted last year, they’d returned again to create a show without asking for much attention other than to be deadheaded during a wander around the garden.
