A 38-year-old man of Chintakani mandal who just recovered from COVID-19 reportedly developed a post-infection complications, with symptoms matching that of ‘Mucormycosis’ on Saturday.
The person hailing from Nereda village consulted the doctors at a hospital in Khammam with complaints of severe headache and redness in the eyes on Saturday morning.
The doctors reportedly referred him to the Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad as he exhibited symptoms of suspected Mucormycosis, a rare form of fungal infection, also known as Black Fungus.

After living abroad for more than two decades, 60-year-old Vasireddy Anil Kumar, who returned to his hometown Khammam from the U.S. in 2019, is running bullock-operated cold-pressed edible oil extraction units at his farm land in Seetampeta in Chintakani mandal.
Mr Anil did M. Sc (Chemistry) from the Bhopal University and worked in a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company as an Assistant Plant Manager before leaving for the US in 1998. After a successful career spanning more than two decades in the US, he returned to India over two years ago to pursue his passion for promoting organic farming and natural pest-control practices.

KHAMMAM: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the TRS government will face the music if it closes farm produce purchase centres.
Addressing farmers at Nagulavancha in Chintakani mandal, Bhatti said that Congress is fighting for the continuation of Indira Kranthi Patham centres and other departmental purchase centres. He said that farmers will be subject to more distress in the absence of such centres.

Attempts to acquire their fertile lands resisted
Protests by some aggrieved farmers from Chintakani mandal marred the award enquiry meeting conducted by the Revenue officials in connection with the land acquisition for the proposed Khammam-Devarapalli four-lane Greenfield highway here on Thursday.
Several agitated farmers from Kodumuru and Basavapuram Revenue villages expressed their anguish over the alleged attempts to acquire their fertile lands for the Greenfield highway project. A section of them wanted the authorities to exempt their agricultural lands from the land acquisition process to safeguard their livelihoods, sources said.
