Chinese disinformation campaigns are becoming more selective over their targets, while the messages show an increased level of customization to target audiences, the Taiwan Statebuilding Party said on Friday.
Taiwan Statebuilding Party Kaohsiung chapter director Chou Tsu-yu (周則宇) said that on Friday he received a message in which the author claimed to be an editor at the Chinese-language <i>Liberty Times</i> (the <i>Taipei Times’</i> sister paper).
The message said that Taiwan Statebuilding Party Taoyuan chapter head Lan Shih-po (藍士博) had been filmed entering a meeting with Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) members, Chou said.

Robert Pera, owner of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, has bought a luxury apartment in Taipei, the Chinese-language Liberty Times (the Taipei Times’ sister newspaper) said on Monday.
The report cited unnamed sources as saying that Pera bought a unit on the 25th floor of Continental Development Corp’s (大陸建設) 55Timeless Tower (琢白) for NT$570 million (US$20.39 million) in February.
Pera, ranked the 100th-richest person in the world, reportedly paid cash for his home in the upscale Xinyi District (信義).

Taipei, May 3 (CNA) Robert Pera, the owner of the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association, has bought a luxury home in Taipei, the Chinese-language Liberty Times reported Monday.
The report cited unnamed sources as saying Pera bought a unit on the 25th floor of 55Timeless (琢白) developed by Continental Development Corp. for NT$570 million (US$20.40 million) in February.
Pera, ranked as the 100th richest person in the world, paid in cash for his home in upscale Xinyi District.
According to the latest Forbes Billionaires list in 2021, the American tycoon had a net worth of US$18.3 billion.
AIT inaugurates new residence for employees

American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director Brent Christensen on Wednesday cut the ribbon for a new residential building for the institute’s employees, saying that the new facility is an important symbol of Taiwan-US friendship.
The ceremony was also attended by Taipei Commissioner for External Affairs Tom Chou (周台竹), Taiwan Council for US Affairs Chairperson Jenny Yang (楊珍妮) and Jean Group CEO Jesse Lin (林傳捷).
The Tianmei building in Taipei’s Tianmu (天母) area is the “first purpose-built facility in Taiwan to house employees of a foreign office,” the AIT wrote on Facebook yesterday.

On Friday last week, Democratic Progressive Party Legislator Mark Ho (何志偉) criticized the justice system for a lack of progress in investigating several paid-membership pornography Web sites that provide videos of people secretly filmed in a variety of compromising situations, including nude photographs, women using the bathroom and sex acts.
People have been filmed in private and public places, including restrooms at train stations, gyms, schools and office buildings.
Some were allegedly tricked into sending videos to the Web sites run by Yu Chi-hao (余啟豪), while others might have been victims of extortion. Many are underage.
