The Chinese Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has announced that it is suspending all flights from Turkey via Turkish Airlines for one month effective April 19 in a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19.
A total of 14 passengers tested positive in the airlines’ last flight to China on March 24, flight number TK 72, Turizm Ajansi news site reported on Tuesday.
Turkey has seen a surging number of infections in recent weeks, registering 42,551 new infections on Monday over the last 24 hours, during which time 193 people died after contracting COVID-19.
China has also suspended flights from Rwanda and Ethiopia.
