The leadership of the Abia State House of Assembly has cautioned member representing Bende North constituency, Hon Chijioke Chukwu over consistent negative utterances against the present Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, administration in the state.
Recall that Hon Chijioke Chukwu, the Deputy Minority Leader in the Abia Assembly, had challenged the present government on claims of its developmental agenda in the state.
The lawmaker lambasted the Ikpeazu led government of being economical with the truth, insisting that the governor has performed below standard in the infrastructure growth of Abia State.

PDP has come to stay in Abia-Party Chieftain, Nwachukwu

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Onwa Innocent Nwachukwu, has said the recent victory of the party in the just-concluded Aba North and Aba South federal constituency election was a clear manifestation of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s developmental strides in Aba and the state at large.
Nwachukwu claimed that the PDP administration in Abia has performed well in all facets of governance, especially in the area of infrastructures, health, trade and investment and education.
The PDP stalwart, in a press statement made available to journalists in Umuahia, said the ruling party has addressed most teething yearnings of the Abia masses, stressing that the party has come to stay, as it remained the best choice of the people because of its landmark achievements.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a date for the resumption of nationwide Continuous Voter Registration
INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Thursday during a briefing in Abuja said the registration will commence on June 28 across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Yakubu disclosed that the registration exercise would be carried out continuously for over a year until the third quarter of 2022.
He said: “The CVR could not recommence in 2020, due largely to the COVID-19 pandemic. In line with the general advice by health officials regarding events involving large groups of people, we considered it inauspicious to restart the CVR at the height of the pandemic. In the light of the pandemic, the commission promised the nation that it would recommend the CVR in the first quarter of 2021.

A former governorship aspirant and Nigerian film producer, Tonye Princewill has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in his ancestral home, Buguma, in Rivers State.
The Prince of Kalabari Kingdom who participated in the exercise on Wednesday urged members of the party who were yet to revalidate their membership to endeavour to do so.
While addressing party members shortly after the exercise, the Prince who was received by a large crowd at the venue, expressed optimism that the party would bounce back in the state.
“Our dear party, in the state has been through trying times in recent years, but I’m thankful for the recent victory at the Supreme Court and the opportunity to heal our wounds, strengthen our bonds and move ahead as one unifying force for good governance and social transformation.
