meteorologist allison chinchar on where the storms are right now. hi, there, alison. where are the storms now and what can we expect? what s happening now is we have rain and snow making its way in. a secondary system is set to push in as early as tonight, but the real focus is monday. that s what the weather service is calling a potential significant event in terms of how much moisture is expected to be with it. you ve got a lot of rain focused across northern and central california and snow across the see areas and other mountain ranges. overall, you re talking an intense amount of moisture for the next 48 hours. that s why you ve got more than 15 million people under flood watches in anticipation of how much rain is expected to come in. it s not just for california. you ve got rain and snow anticipated for areas of oregon, nevada, as well as washington state. california will take the bulk of the moisture. 4 to 6 inches in a lot of places.
