미국 국무부가 유엔난민협약 채택 70주년을 맞아 곤경에 처한 탈북 난민들의 상황에 우려를 나타내고 중국 정부에 난민 보호 의무를 이행할 것을 촉구했습니다. 유엔 북한인권특별보고관도 탈북 난민에 대한 강제송환금지 국제원칙이 북-중 합의에 우선한다며 탈북민 보호를  촉구했습니다. 김영권 기자가 보도합니다.   국무부 대변인실 관계자는 28일 유엔난민협약 채택 70주년을 맞아 중국 내 탈북 난민 상황에 관한 VOA의 논평 요청에 “북한의 망명 희망자들이 겪는 곤경에 대해 깊이 우려한다”고 밝혔습니다. 이 관계자는 “강제북송된 탈북민은 통상적으로 고문과 임의적 구금, 즉결 처형, 강제 낙태, 다른 형태의 성폭력의 대상이 된다”며 이같이 말했습니다.
