The cost of traditional bride prices and dowries in eastern China has spiralled out of control so officials are pursuing unique policies to address the problem.
According to a report in the South China Morning Post, women are not required to leave their house after marriage and instead the men will move in with her family. Under the service, single men will be matched with wealthy women.
Other innovative ways include relative and friends of the bride posing challenges such as making the groom guess riddles, recite poems or display his singing and dancing skills.
Last year the number of people getting married in China dropped to the lowest point since 1986, and now officials are worried about the health of its future population.
