China and Singapore will hold a joint military exercise from late August to mid-September to boost military cooperation, the Chinese Defense Ministry said on Monday.
Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister Li Shangfu, who is visiting Singapore, held talks with Singaporean Defense Minister Huang Yonghong. Defense departments of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a direct telephone communication line. China-Singapore relations have been elevated to the height of "all-round and high-quality forward-looking partnership," says Zhao Xiaozhuo. The mutual trust between the Chinese and New Zealand militaries has risen to a new height, says Zhang Chi.
