US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke by phone with Chinese Communist Party Politburo Member and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission Yang Jiechi, according to a State Department statement.
The two officials discussed the US’ comprehensive North Korea policy review, focusing on the need for the US and China to work together for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Spokesman Ned Price said in the statement.

Nine railway workers were killed in northwest China on Friday after they stepped into the path of a train, state media reported.

China on Thursday said it has sent a new-generation meteorological satellite into the space.
The country’s indigenously-built Long March-3B rocket carried the satellite, named Fengyun-4B (FY-4B), into the planned orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China’s southwestern Sichuan province, state-run Xinhua News reported.
