Last minute card changes became an all too frequent occurrence and it gave several fighters the chance to seize moments in the spotlight as they became available. UFC: Khamzat Chimaev Out of Edwards Fight on January 20

Khamzat Chimaev vs. Leon Edwards has been cancelled for the second time.
The pair were originally scheduled for December 19, but after Edwards contracted COVID-19, the fight was pushed back to January 20, 2021. That booking was expected to be the main event of UFC Fight Island 8. However, Front Kick Online was first to report that Chimaev had pulled out of the bout.
