Race organizers of the famed Comrades Marathon disqualified 25 runners ahead of the June 11 race after they allegedly submitted false qualifying information.
Twenty-five athletes have been disqualified from participating in the 96th Comrades Marathon on June 11 for supplying false qualifying information. They are also suspended from entering the 2024 and 2025 races, the Comrades Marathon Association said.
The men’s and women’s races at the fourth running of the Real Gijimas 50km ultra-marathon provided different outcomes in respect of predicted results, but both races provided new winners and added depth to a developing history of this tough race from Zwelitsha to Mdantsane.
