DARIEN, IL Blueberry Hill Café is asking Darien for permission to serve liquor.
According to a village memo, Darien Mayor Joseph Marchese, who serves as the liquor commissioner, does not oppose the request. The City Council is expected to vote on it at Monday s meeting.
Recently, the restaurant, 7340 Illinois Route 83, requested the addition of liquor to its menu. It says it wants to mainly serve mimosas and bloody marys, but also may have beer and wine.

Watervliet Restaurant Week Is Underway
This week you can save on some eats while supporting some great local Watervliet restaurants.
As the temperatures start to warm up a bit and the economy continues to open up, the timing could not be better for you to get out for a date night meal. The arrival of Watervliet s first restaurant week makes the timing even better!
Now through this Saturday, March 6th eleven eateries are participating in Discover Watervliet Dining Restaurant Week according to the city of Watervliet s website. All of the restaurants taking part will be offering meal speicals for $20.21, several of them offering up 3-course options at that price point. The Purple Pub (Which just landed on our list of the area s best pizza joints), Black Bear, Deacon Blues, Arensal City Tavern, On the Hill Cafe, and more are among the great Watervliet restaurants taking part in this week s event.
