The district court formed charges against the ten accused including Tufan in February, 2020.
The public prosecutor further said the tribunal today granted bail to Tufan as the case was not disposed of even after 11 months of framing charges. I strongly oppose the bail, he added.
With Tufan, all ten accused are now on bail in the case, added the lawyer.

A youth was sentenced to life term imprisonment today for raping a mentally challenged girl in Barishal s Muladi upazila.
Judge Abu Shamim Azad of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal handed down the punishment in the presence of the accused Shariful Islam Mursalin.
The court also fined the accused Tk one lakh, said Advocate Faizul Haque, special public prosecutor of the court.
According to the case statement, the accused raped the victim after finding her alone at her home on April 26, 2016.
The victim s mother filed a rape case against the accused with Muladi Police Station on April 28, 2016. Police pressed charges before the court on July 10 of the same year.

Lakingme Chakma was a student of class-VI and according to her birth certificate she was 14 years and 10 months old on January 5 when she was abducted from her home.
After 11 months and six days, police called in her father on Thursday to identify his daughter s body in Cox s Bazar hospital morgue. They, however, did not hand him over her body saying the girl was married to one of her abductors who managed a birth certificate that says she was 18. HC grants bail to convict after marrying rape victim

DHAKA, Dec 10, 2020 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today granted one-year bail to a person convicted in a rape case after he married the victim at Rajshahi jail gate.
The High Court division virtual bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order, granting bail to convict Dilip Khalko.
On October 22, when the court was hearing the bail plea of the convict, the defence counsel said the petitioner is ready to marry the victim and she also has no problem in marrying him. After that the court ordered the Rajshahi jail superintendent to arrange the marriage and submit a report on the matter within 30 days.

Dhaka, Dec 10 (efe-epa).– The recent widespread outrage against the high level of sexual violence targeting women in Bangladesh has forced the authorities to conduct faster trials of rape cases in a country known for sluggish judiciary .
The courts have begun delivering quicker verdicts, some even in less than a week, which would earlier take years of stagnation.
Public prosecutor Mahmuda Akter was racing against time with her team, attending hearings of at least a dozen cases in a Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Dhaka on Dec 3.
