Open Bwisagu celebration held along Indo-Bhutan border

OUR CORRESPONDENT KOKRAJHAR: Amidst the apprehension of a second wave of COVID-19, people from all walks of life took part enthusiastically in Rongjali Bwisagu/Rongali Bihu celebration. An open Rongjali Bwisagu/Rongali Bihu function was held on the beautiful hilly terrain at Saralpara along the Indo-Bhutan border on Saturday to foster peace and brotherhood among different sections of people living together. Saralpara is a hotspot for picnickers in Kokrajhar because of its natural beauty. People have to pass through the thick jungles of Ultapani which have rich flora and fauna and wild elephants. Sarphang of Bhutan is attached to Saralpara but it has not been opened for tourists due to COVID-19.
